More Garland Cult - The Remix album

Despite the fact that the Cd for the debut album from the Garland Cult came with a bonus Cd of Qubiq remixes (which has not been popped up online btw) there were so many good remixes around that it was decided a proper remix album would be released - hence "Glitterazzi."

First up is the best remix (imho) of "All Good things." although it was the Qubiq remix that got TGC into lots of discos in the US, the People Theatre remix is my fave.

Just Kait

Flipped past MTV last night and this video caught my eye


Not sure why, but I watched the whole thing. My mind kinda ran this way
"Hmmm, oh boy, another punk princess poser, does no one remmeber Avril anymore? My god this is all so old and tired, oh, she just went into a nice chorus, someone wrote a decent tune... love the synthpop background and the guitar front... almost, but not really , Joan Jett like. Wow, kind like this song. I'd get it for nothing if it were on eMusic I guess."

Well, today I found it on eMusic. The song is like a-ha crossed with I Love Rock n Roll. Very slick. She is 16- ok, where does she come from? the whole set up seems to be independent (2n2 productions) but smells like a major (nice video! and on MTV, how "lucky"!)

anyway, it somehow caught my eye.

Garland Cult Week

Aidan Casserly is best known as the lead singer of Empire State Human - but a couple o fyears ago he began to record music that was more club oriented, the result was an album full of club ready music called "Protect Yourself From Hollywood." He called the project The Garland Cult (nothing to do with Roman headwear btw!)

The group has met with some interesting success. "All Good Things" - the great single that never was, has been the breakout hit for the band. The group also recorded a remix album with a couple of new songs, one of which was a tribute to Boy George- more on that later in the week....
