Cotton & Gin

hmmmmm

DJ /rupture and Matt Shadetek

ok
So this may be a little too "DJ" for some, but as someone who still puts in the first DJ Shadow album from time to time this stuff struck me as arright, you know?
...watermelon is all that can cool it..."

Solar Life Raft is the collaborative project of Brooklyn's DJ /rupture and Matt Shadetek. Their spacey mixtures of tropical heat, Top 40 bounce, punishing drum and bass, sweltering dance hall and grimey dubstep has been intoxicating listeners for years.

ok go "this too shall pass"

1. Because you gotta love sticking it to the "man"
(see:http://okgo.forumsunlimited.com/index.php?showtopic=4169

2. It's kind of a fun video

3. the song isn't bad (but is it the same version that you get when you buy the album?)

sometimes music transcends language

Not sure what is going on here ut you gotta love this Red Box-ish song

"Eggs" by Oh No Ono

Sometimes you come across stuff (music) that really defies genre - the Eggs are like that. Not strictly rock, not really pop, not exactly electronic, but some strange mix inbetween.
Sugarcubes with a better singer? (! did I say that outloud?)

You judge

Hexes and Ohs "Share"

SHARE (Remixes) is a remix project featuring collaborations between Hexes & Ohs and seven of their admired fellow Canadians friends. They are the Bicycles, Camaromance, DT666 (aka Patrick Pentland of Sloan), Montag, OPOPO, Sloan and vitaminsforyou. Unlike typical remix albums, this one here is a two way street, Hexes & Ohs have their songs remixed and in turn remix others' songs. The result became a sort of dialogue between the artists. It's colorful and diverse, but unified by the common ingredient.

En Rico en I Cola "

I can't understand a word of it but for some reason that makes it all the cooler. Mixing some blipp electro with "o Superman" style vocals...

Italian it is then, cool.

Silver Swans

OK
Time to get the new year in gear- not much new out there but I am finding some gems from last year.
The Silver Swans -
"Silver Swans are named for a group of super-villains in the Wonder Woman comics. The evil Swans have the ability to create powerful sound waves with their voice. The "swan song" is capable of devastating a small area of land with its destructive force. By creating a low-level humming, the Silver Swan can form a protective shield around herself that can deflect bullets and projectiles.

In real life, Silver Swans are far from evil wrong doing. This electro dream pop project captures the eerie drama of The Knife and the sweet darkness of Ladytron. Silver Swans began in 2007 as a song floating between producer and musician, Jon Waters and vocalist Ann Yu. Harnessing the energy of electro pop infused with dream-like ethereal vocals, the song 'Realize The Ghost' soon flourished into a collection of tracks, and found it's way into the hands of local label, Tricycle Records. With two years in the making, Realize The Ghost is soon to make a debut, both as a single (out Nov. 2009) and a full length record (out Jan. 2010), both available at www.tricycle-records.com.
