2007 gracias

Whew, 2007 is almost over. Its been a weird year, the end of 2006 almost saw the demise of the label and now we have the #166 album on Amazon's MP3 chart. No, not #166 on the obscure synthpop releases released by labels based in Texas or something, but the whole damn chart. The Modern LP by The Matinee Club  By the time you read this I am sure it will be # 456000 but hey, for a moment on christmas eve...
Thanks to everyone who stuck by the label. 2008 will be a banner year, with no less than a new Spray album, new Alan Replica, new Garland Cult (plus 2 more from Aidan Casserly) plus some great dance music from Emotiquon and Melody & Mezzo (and maybe even a new EP from our newest signing Cotton & Gin) plus a few more things I am sure.

Hey Dave!

#46 in MP3 Albums > Alternative Rock > New Wave & Post-Punk

Looks like The Modern are still doing fairly well in their own genre! Here's to a happy 1998, let's make it rock!

You really deserve to be BIG and SUCCESSFUL in 2008 on massive effort alone .... Regarding a comment made by someone regarding signing artists that tour and promote alot ... on behalf of us (the Ninthwave Artists) .... people should know, that most Ninthwave artists have full time jobs, morgages and wives and can't tour or plan much in terms of promotion. We do our part as best we can, by delivering quality music ... so please just judge our music and not by how many gigs we can or cannot do!!

Aidan is right ... it is impossible for me to even get out and perform, partially due to the nature of my music, all my collaborators (bar two) are out of state from me. But I think there are a lot of great musicians I know who have never played a note live.

Best of luck to the label in 2008. I'm going to work my butt off getting the music heard.
